According to the 2013 Cost vs. Value Report, exterior replacement projects are among the most valuable home improvements that sellers can currently invest in, starting with the front door.
Exterior projects dominated the list with six of the top 10 most cost-effective midrange projects and eight of the top 10 upscale projects.
I often get the question. Where should we spend our money to get our home ready to sell? There is no one best answer but the cost vs. value report is a great resource for home sellers, and a good place to start. Depending on your budget, you might consider a new front door. Have a little more to invest? What about some new siding or a new roof? If you know you will be selling your home in the next few years, why not do the project now and enjoy it yourself for awhile?
