I had a chance to walk around Superior a little yesterday (haven’t done that in a long time) and thought it would be great to share more about this town. Years ago, when I was in college, they were just starting to build Rock Creek and there wasn’t much off of US36. Fast forward to today and Superior has a character all its own. The trees have grown, community established, trails galore and now Downtown Superior is really coming along. It’s easy access to so many other areas in Boulder Valley as well, but now with so much to offer in Superior, it really is its own wonderful connected town.
The population of Superior is about 13,000 with a history started around coal mining. The town was reportedly named after its superior quality of coal.
If you’re looking for outdoor activities hop on Coal Creek Trail or head to Coalton trailhead. Connect to endless miles of trails in all directions. You definitely need to check out the Sport Stable right off 36 if you haven’t. What an amazing facility right here in our Boulder Valley community. You can even get on the US36 bike trail that will take you all the way to Boulder or East to Denver without having to stop!
You’re never more than a couple minutes away from shopping (Costco, Whole Foods, Flatirons mall just to the East). Grab some takeout on your way home as the number of restaurants is growing.
So let’s talk about real estate. There is a variety of housing stock. Both single family homes and attached dwellings. This graph shows average values for single family homes over the last decade. The average price sitting at $722,000 in September 2020 with just 1.1 months of inventory.
Attached dwellings average price was at $489,987 in September 2020 with just 2.9 months of inventory
There are several home builders creating new options in Downtown Superior and Boulder Creek building across McCaslin. Starting in the $800s.
This historic town has so much to offer. Let me know if you have questions or want to explore housing options.
