I was hoping that things wouldn’t come to this, but alas here we are. As of tomorrow, our two area MLS systems (IRES and REColorado) will no longer share their real estate data. Without getting into the politics or timing of things, I thought it was important to let my clients and everyone else know what this means for you. If you are looking to buy or sell a home in our area you need to work with a Realtor that belongs to both MLS systems in order to see all the available homes and to make sure that your home gets the most exposure possible.
For my buyers who receive my emails with new listings (if you are reading this and want this too, contact me today), this does mean that you will unfortunately get emails from two systems now (not my choice but a necessity to make sure you have access to all listings). If listings are entered into both systems I will be doing my best to reduce duplicates (we all need patience and time for this).
For sellers – Your comparative market analysis reports (helping us determine how to position your home in the market) may be from two MLS systems and will need to be combined after the fact to make the best decision. I’m here to do that.
I will continue to provide great service, and want you to know that I have already spent lots of time training on REColorado (the system that is new to me).
I do hope that sometime in the not too distant future a solution that is in the best interests of the consumer (you – the buyers and sellers) and those working diligently for them (me) will be coming. Talks have already begun about one system for the entire state of CO. These things do take time though…
