I attended a Spotlight on Longmont presentation last week. A joint venture between the Boulder Area Realtor Association (BARA) and the Longmont Association of Realtors (LAR). There are some exciting things happening in this community of nearly 90,000 people.
- Twin Peaks Mall is probably the most talked about subject in Longmont. The eye sore at the corner of 119 and Hover Road is getting a new look. Check out the makeover plans here.Starting early next year the current mall will be demolished (with the exception of Dillard’s, which will be the one building to remain) and the city is planning for a late 2014 opening of the new “retail village.” A 10 plus theater movie complex is part of the redesign.
- Roosevelt Parkwill be a mixed use development. The $21 million project at Main Street and Longs Peak Avenue is planned to include 115 apartments, plus restaurant and retail space and a parking garage.
- The City is in the final stages of a 10-month master plan and revitalization study for the 1st & Main Station projectnear the site of the old flourmill near 1st Avenue and Main Street. The renderings show a great center.
- The last phase of the St. Vrain Greenway is set to complete soon, all the way to Airport Road.
- Meritage Homes, a local builder is going to start a new community North of Clover Basin Drive (between N 75th and Airport Road). This builder has had a lot of success in Northern Colorado.
These are just some of the exciting happenings in Longmont. Curious about inventory in this great town? Let me know.
