Market Facts and Economic Profile of Boulder Valley

The Boulder County Business Report along with the Boulder Area Realtor Association, recently put out a fantastic publication called the Market Facts and Economic Profile of the Boulder Valley. It provides a snapshot of the Boulder Valley’s dynamic economy, with information on specific communities and key industry sectors. You can read the Publisher’s Notebook to get an idea of what is included in the report.

I will be sharing data from this book over the next couple of weeks. It talks about banking, industries, populations, employers, education, taxes, real estate, agriculture, and more. For those of us already here it reminds us of what attracted us to this area in the first place, and for folks looking at moving here from another place, it has some great information.

On a related note, I thought this City of Boulder population chart (see below), which dates back to 1900 and has projections for the future was really interesting. This came from a report put out by the Boulder Economic Council in March 2012. The city has grown by about 20,000 since I first came here in the early 1990s. Today our population is just over 100,000 here in the city of Boulder.
