Twenty years ago when I saw Boulder for the first time I was a senior in high school trying to choose a college. I have no idea how Boulder even got on my college list in the first place (I came from Northern CA) but I am so glad it did! Once I saw those mountains and everyone walking and biking everywhere I was hooked.
I’ve spent time in our amazing town as a college student, avid runner, hiker, and now as a Realtor and mother/wife; raising our two daughters in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I’m not trying to date myself (though I appear to be) but rather talk about how much Boulder has to offer for both the young and the young at heart. I recently saw this great poster put out about by Applied Trust (check out the poster here: Boulder is For Startups) about why Boulder is for Startups and it does a good job of summing up lots of the “perks” of living in Boulder. Not only are these great reasons for companies to consider Boulder as their base, but for all of us to smile about our town.
“America’s Best Town for Startups” (Bloomberg Businessweek, 2011) is just one among countless superlatives used to describe the sunny city of Boulder, Colorado. It’s also the skinniest, the healthiest, and the happiest. So it’s no wonder startups are gravitating here in record numbers.
Hope you are enjoying this fabulous time of year. Maybe I shouldn’t spread the word, but I’m not really sharing anything we don’t already know about this Colorado town I call home!
